What new form of sadism is this?! Where I live, feeding a girl gruel on Easter would probably constitute a criminal offense. I'm still recovering from Sunday's gorge-a-thon... (Is it odd that I found gruel to be the most disturbing part of this narrative?)

As always, an evocative account, EJ. One of my favourite scene concepts ever, and it's lovely to read that you milked it dry!

You're so good at evoking the atmosphere of a scene. That front-of-thighs birching - I don't know if I'd have been able to bear it, like you, not because of the pain necessarily, but because of the fear of the strokes landing too high.Pandora Blakehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14379384317906645783noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3771730470771017640.post-45341468440643804032011-04-26T11:11:15.848+01:002011-04-26T11:11:15.848+01:00Abel: Thank you for posting the link to your narr...Abel: Thank you for posting the link to your narrative of the events. As you know, it was the first time I'd managed to get properly (almost all the time) into your headspace world and Jessamine was very nearly real to me. York, with its ancient streets and Victorian buildings, is a wonderful location to imagine as the setting for the school. Your narrative takes the reader into your headspace as you experience the torment of waiting, watching someone punished and finally your severe punishment. Very edgy and very well done.
